Positive press is always a good thing for ferrets. There's still far too much misinformation and misunderstanding of these sweet (and, at times, rascally) little guys.

I hope all ferret clubs and associations will continue to present a positive image of ferrets while educating the public about the reality of keeping them safe, happy and healthy.

Working together, we can make the world a better place for our furry friends. We can also plan for bigger and better ferret celebrations for future National Ferret Days!

Ferret Stuff Up For Auction On Ebay

It's springtime, so I've been doing what any red-blooded American woman does: cleaning out drawers and closets. I have an awful lot of cool ferret memorabilia. It stands to reason, of course, I was publishing and editing a ferret magazine and I had nine of the little critters in my home (at top count). I pretty much ate, breathed and slept ferrets.

But now it's time to let other ferret fanatics have a chance to own some of the neat things I collected over the years. It's not that these things don't bring back fond memories, it's just that they need to be worn and used in a way that openly celebrates our favorite little weasels. They certainly don't belong in jewelry box or on a remote shelf hoping for an occasional outing.

Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be putting up these items on Ebay. You can always check this link to see what I have up for auction: http://myworld.ebay.com/modernferret.

In addition to the cool things (like blown glass ferret earrings), I also put up some books and other ferret items, so you can usually get a really good deal by watching Ebay. You might also find some non-ferret-related stuff that you like (for example, I've got some Mickey Mouse stuff that needs a new home). Go have a look. You might find something you didn't even realize you need!
